Can one of you more knowledgeable programmers enlighten a novice like me as to how they did the lower border on this page ..... the one with the hockey player on the left.I'd love to do similar but can't see how they did it.

There is a lovely example of using fixed positioning, complete with code, here at the W3C site: click hereLook at it in Firefox, Opera or IE7 to see how it works when you scroll the page. I love the way you can see the page as it passes beneath the menu.
It's images isn't it. You could use images for it!
It doesn't matter whether it is images or text: it still requires a method of keeping it in a fixed position at the bottom of the screen.
