Can you get into windows?

Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore

tap F8 while its booting to get menu and select safe mode if normal mode isn't working.

Ive just tried doing a system recovery but instead of it doing a recovery, it just loads up again as though I'm doing a simple rebooteeboot? I cant even search google now, only can use bookmarks, luckily enough i have this site bookmarked

Must be a bad virus :(

What exactly are you trying to do?

Restore to an earlier date or

reset back to factory setting (that will lose all your data)

Is XP pre installed or do you have a XP CD or a restore CD?

I am trying to reset it to factory settings to get rid of the virus.

I have a built in partition, but when I try to do a recovery it just reboots instead of doing the actual recovery?

Make and model of machine?

What are the indications that makes you say that you have a virus?

lol,the double post i presume is the time you get such pop ups do not click on them as that is what has caused the problem.just click restart on your pc fruit bat has said we need the make and model of your pc before we can tell you how to do a reset back to factory settings.

  rizlo29 21:11 18 Apr 2010

Why is it a double post? I am asking two different questions, ffs.

sorry i thought you said you want to reset to factory settings to get rid of the virus.or do you want rid of the virus and then reset to factory settings after?
