How do I delete a corrupted file?

I have a file that is 0 bytes in size and appears to be corrupted. I have tried deleting it and it locks up Windows Explorer, I have also tried deleting it using MS Dos window and it tells me that the file does not exist! Any ideas?

I did a disk check & repair using disk tools and then was able to delete the file.
