I have an old long uninstalled program that still shows in the context menu when I right click, how can it be deleted ?
Have you done a search in your registry? For example I have a program called XnView & in the right-click contextmenu (when a Directory/Drive is right-clicked) it shows up as 'Browse with XnView'. A registry search for 'Browse with XnView' (without the quotes) revealed it was in the following keys:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CLASSES\Directory\shell\Browse with XnView HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CLASSES\Drive\shell\Browse with XnViewUse the same logic as above to find & remove the key(s). Backup the registry BEFORE deleting anything just in case! G
Many thanks, it worked a treat. Well worth knowing.
Thanks for that, but ShellExView is really easy and quick, I can recommend it.
Thanks bertiecharlie & rawprawn - you just made my computing life a little easier : ) As you might've guessed I made my earlier post without refreshing! G
