The normal Windows Clipboard only holds the last item you copied to it so its unlikely to be full.

What program are you cutting and pasting in?

By the way in XP you can have up to 24 items on the clipboard

Open Word - and in the Task Pane to the right click on the heading "Getting Started" and from the menu select "clipboard". Then click on the button "Clear All".

Yes but only in Office/Word.

In any other application its only one item.

If you run CCleaner one of the options is to clear the Clipboard each time you run it.

when i delete clipboard from word, it deletes all the items, and then they are added straight away

run cc cleaner

problem remains

create a shortcut to Clipboard Viewer
either navigate to:
and rightclick on it and choose 'create shortcut' then drag the shortcut to your desktop

or rightclick on blank part of desktop and point to New, choose 'create shortcut'
Right-click your desktop, point to New, and then click Shortcut.
In location field, type C:WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe.
Click Next, give it a name, clipboard or clipbook
then click Finish

Now you can open and clear/manage the clipboard independently of any other program

issue remains
when i run the shortcut it opens the clip board viewer and the it just scrolls all the otems in the clipboard, and the pointer changes to an hour glass and i am unable to do anything
have to close it down using task manager
