How to Create a RamDisk and Speed up your Surfing

First download the File RamDisk click here then follow the instructions to install.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer usually stores its temporary files on disk. It's very easy to redirect temporary Internet cache files to the RamDisk - S: drive. This greatly improves the speed of browsing the web, because these files do not get saved to disk, and you don't have to wait for them to be written out. Better yet, when the system is shut down, they all go away, so the sites you visited are not recorded on disk. This way, clearing them out to regain disk space is no longer a problem either

Here's how to set it up!

1. Create a RamDisk of say 50 MB, either FAT or NTFS.
2. Select the Tools option from Internet Explorer.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Under Temporary Internet files select the Settings button.
5. Set the size of disk space to use to 45 MB.
6. Select the Move Folder button.
7. Select the S: drive (or whatever letter you've selected for your RAM drive). You're all set to cruise the web at spectacular speed, and nothing is recorded on magnetic disk!
8. Exit back to Internet Explorer.

Now see the net FLY...
