How to connecting 2 computers & braodband

  dcpents 12:08 28 Nov 2003

I have 2 computers running XP Pro, and ntl broadband, via ethernet connections. I want to connect both to internet and to read/write files to both computers and print to one printer.
What is the simplest, easiest most cost effective way to do this?
I know there is router, WiFi and LAN type connections, but do not understand in detail which is easiest to choose from.
Anyone had this need and completed successfully?

Just to get a router. Very easy to set up either
wired or wireless. If you want to get wireless, you can get a 3COM OFFICECONNECT 11MBPS WIRELESS ACCESS POINT (around £55), all products from
netgear or Belkin.

click here for a fairly straightforward guide.

Basically: two network interface cards (NICs)

a crossover cable.

WinXP netowrk wizard will do the rest.

NB. If you go with the router (which would be my advice) you don't get cross over cables.
