How to change your Ip Adress?

I want try something out of interest here, how do you go about changing your ip address? I downloaded an IP Mask Program and tried it out and it hides my ipddy, a little bit of dection followed me in the right direction:

IE 6.0

Internet Options
LAN Settings
"Use a Proxy for your Lan" (Check the Box)
In the Socks Location at the bottom Ip and Port 9050

When I Enter that the web don't work any ideas?

You do not want to do that your IP address is auto set by router If you change you will not have any access to the internet

only change your IP address if you know what you are doing

Correct setup for your network adapter on the desktop

Click “Start”, “Settings”, then “Control Panel”.

2. Double-click on the “Network and dial-up connections
“Network” icon (Windows XP).

3. Right-click on the “Local Area Connection” associated with your
network adapter and select “Properties” from the drop-down menu.

4. In the “Local Area Connection Properties” window, click “Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP)” and click the “Properties” button

5. Select “Obtain an IP address automatically

6 Obtain DNS server address automatically”

7 Click “OK”.

Your network adapter is now configured for use
with the Router.
