How can I get a tick-mark in an Excel spreadsheet?

As per the title, how can I get a tick-mark in a cell in an Excel spreadsheet please? I've been through all the Symbols in the Insert tab and can't find a tick-mark. The closest I can find is a square-root symbol, but that's not quite the same.

When you have found your tick. Put one somewhere out of way on your spreadsheet and try colouring it. I have found that red and light green stand out well
