How can I get rid of these ?

  hinny 20:49 27 Aug 2004

I am now receiving many emails in my bulk folder every day, from different sources, the "subject" mostly being pornografic. I delete them without opening them, but they are becoming extremely irritating. Often there is a $ sign so I assune they come from USA. Is there any way to stop them ?? Thank you.

Allow the mail to be sent to the old Mail address untill they cannot send any more, your server will then bounce them back to sender. You need to disable your old Mail address in Outlook Express if that is what you use

Hello again, they come through as bulkmail and offer to sell MS.XP, all sorts of things unmentionable and some are explicitly not nice, would they be spam if so why are they getting through the Spam Guard that is provided by BtYahoo ? Would any of the programs above stop them ? Thank you for your replies.

I intalled mailwasher, but XP firewall stops it. Sorry for being so stupid, but I am only entry level computer literate. Cheers.

To allow Mailwasher to access:

In Control Panel, double-click Networking and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

Right-click the connection and then click Properties.

On the Advanced tab, click the box to select the option to Protect my computer or network.

Click the Settings button, and then selecting Mailwasher to be enabled.
