How can I check what speed my ntl broadband is run

personally the second link is in my opinion the better, i just rated my 768 bb and it was rated as 725 kbps bb, quite pleased with that result.

I think so i am on the humble 150K but tests are reporting 280k
test result 282 kilobits per second

Communications 282 kilobits per second
Storage 34.4 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 29.7 seconds

1st 128K took 155390 ms = 844 Bytes/sec = approx 7 kbits/sec

2nd 128K took 6370 ms = 20576 Bytes/sec = approx 171 kbits/sec

3rd 128K took 3680 ms = 35617 Bytes/sec = approx 296 kbits/sec

4th 128K took 3570 ms = 36715 Bytes/sec = approx 305 kbits/sec

150K now 300K
