Home Networking to share Internet

  pl 17:12 10 Jun 2004

I am a bit of a network beginner. I have two pcs, both on windows xp pro. I want broadband to be shared between both. Do I just need two
10/100 cards and a cable or is there more to it than that

Thanks in advance.

If you have an ethernet modem rather than a usb modem, AND you have the budget, my suggestion would be to purchase a router as this would give you a hardware firewall. Three straight through cat 5 cables, 1 from modem to router, and one from the router to each PC nic. Gives a more secure setup and greater potential for future expansion.
