Hijacked PC

  thedogisdead2 18:54 16 Oct 2004

My computer seems to have been hijacked by a load of freeloading programmes, horroscope things and pop ups etc... however one of the most annoying has hijacked my browser. It highlights words such as 'music' or 'computer' and turns them into links to shops.

Also, WebRebates etc have also lodged themselves on the PC.

This is incredibly annoying as they eat up the virtual memory and general cause bizarre things such as freezes to happen.

Whats a good way to remove them? I find Search and Destroy is a bit weedy and not very effective.

hmmm.... I dont fancy trawling through everything. Think I'll just back everything up and blitz the computer, making it like new. That always works a treat and it makes you more organised.
