Hi-Jacked Home Page

  aneurin 11:55 29 May 2005

Every time I open up Explorer my home page defaults to about:blank and however much I keep trying to go back to my usual home page, next time I log on,back I go to about:blank. Tinkering with Internet Options, running virus checkers, anti adware or spyware reveals nothing. Yet it keeps hijacking my home page. Any help gratefully received.

I noticed your post the other night and I was wondering how you got on.

The infection you have can be pretty tricky... but it is fixable. If you are still having problems then post a hijack log in the Malware Removal Forum click here They will have you sorted out in no time!

I think you clicked on my little envelope and sent me an email instead of replying to this post. Easily done.

You said that AdawareAway didn't work... that doesn't really surprise me. Why not follow the advice in my previous post and go to Malware Removal and we can clean you up there.

I am hoping that the problem has been resolved. Interstingly, when you scan and delete in Adware you don't delete the icon, just the program associated with it. Even though the about:blank icons are still there I now get my Yahoo homepage every time. Fingers crossed................

Many thanks to all of you who responded, especially
