Help Please - installing iTunes - Windows Vista

  David170 16:52 26 Dec 2007

I have an iPod Touch and when downloading iTunes this error message comes up.

An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘Microsoft.VC80.CRT,publicKeyToken=“1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b”,type=“win32”,version=“8.0.50727.762”,processorArchitecture=“x86”’.Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736B3.

When I open up iTunes at the end of this it says that the required software is not installed and that I should uninstall then reinstall everything. I did and the same error message comes up again. Help please.

Have you got an XP machine to try? I get the impression a firmware update may be needed for Vista.
