This all begun as soon as i started playing visualisations in (WMP) also 3D screensavers, I'm not a gamer and don't use 3D's but when i did this took effect. the VGA temp/ reaches to 60.d/celsius, the (HDD) an (CPU) are fine, only the (VGA) gauge flashes then an alarm is activated, i place my hand on the console directly above the (PSU) and its way HOT,.. maybe i need to replace the (PSU) for a more powerfull one, would I be correct ?? my (VGA) is a sapphire radeon X300. (PSU) 450-watt,

windows XP SP2 32bit OS

Motherboard Asus P5GD2X dual channel

Intel pentium (4) CPU 3.40Ghz, 3.41Ghz

2Gb of ram corsair 2x1Gb

The PC is 6 months old.

If you get an Alarm, check BIOS Health I would say it's the CPU that's getting too hot

How can it be the CPU when i've already mentioned the CPU an HDD are fine and that when the alarm is activated its the VGA gauge that flashes..

Check there is a good air flow through the PC, especially acros the graphics card.

Pet hairs can block the grills /filters in the front and back of the case.
