Help needed installing XP with Promise ATA card

  SDJ 14:41 08 Oct 2006

Moved to the US and left my PC with my brother, HDD failed, bro is installing new drive.
Trying to talk him through the installation, hardware and software. He is doing the hardware installation now.

From memory I used to install the HDD on the IDE primary ignoring the ATA card until i had it formatted and XP installed, then I would swap over to the ATA card once the drivers were installed. I have read that it is possible to load the SCSI RAID driver before/during the XP installation.

Is this the case and if so can someone walk me through it so i can visualize it before referring to my brother.

Thanks for you help, its difficult doing this sort of thing from across the pond!!

I can visualize the XP install, its just the F6 bit to load the RAID driver. Is that on a blue XP install screen or in the dos black screen?

They will be able to format and everything as usual from the XP setup?

Thanks again
