A so called friend said he was going help my computor to run better...he took out bits of programs, moved stuff about, what I do not know. NOW !!!! I cannot open MSN Hotmail, messenger or Outlook Express and I also have a Gearbox error message pops up. I have tried altering the cookies as Microsoft Help And Support said do........ that did nothing to help..
I am open to any help and ideas I can get...

You don't tell us which O/S you have.
XP and ME have System Restore to roll back the PC to a known good state.

I have tried a Systems Restore.. twice, that did not work..
Go to start menu / run / type "msconfig" (no quote marks "") click ok, then click "services" tab and click on "enable all" then click on "start up" tab and click "enable all". You will then need to re-boot to finalize settings.
By doing this you will probably find that some stuff starts up that you don't require so make a note of what is not ticked before clicking "enable all" that way you can always reverse it should it be necessary.
