Help. I get a high pitched sound after I turn on my newly built PC!?
you need to isolate whee the sound is comming from, use a rolled up newspaper to act as a sethoscope.try CPU fan, Hard drive, fan on video card if fitted, for starters.
OK here are the specs:Thermaltake LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Black Gaming Cube ColorsIT 550Watt Gold Silent 120mm PSUAMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ AM2 - Retail with FanAOpen 20x IDE PATA Dual Layer DVD-Rewritable Black, OEMValue nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB DDR3 Dual DVI/TV Out PCI-E, Hitachi Deskstar 7K160 160GB 7200RPM SATAII 8MB Cache OEM Asus M2A-VM HDMI Video/Snd Socket AM2 Motherboard Corsair ValueSelect 2GB DDR2 (2x1024MB) PC5300 Dual Channel Kit
is it a single beep or a continuous noise? Does the pc start up despite the noise? Anything on the screen? Any lights flash on the keyboard or case front?
I would suspect the power supply. Either its defective, not powerful enough for the load its having to supply or its old and tired.
your graphics card screeches if it is low on power and draining system.
Change the position of your Ram. Just to double check they are in the primary sockets.
