I have been having problems with a hacker and there is a real possibility I know the person(s). I want to file a complaint and I need help with terminology.
The usual high-jacked password attributable events have occurred: my Facebook page has been altered. Organizations I follow have been spammed after sending emails or my sign up has been removed from their lists.
The following are the two issues causing me the most trouble for obvious reasons:
1. Saved text documents are altered.
2. Email messages are altered as they are written and proofed.
I would be grateful for any recommendations for how this might happen: is it a truly sophisticated or difficult hack? Does it depend on if the person(s) had access to my computer (they might have been able to achieve this).
Best way for remote settings is Control Panel, use the Large Icons to view by, select system then select remote settings, under the remote tab make sure the button for Don't allow remote connection to this computer is dotted. Also check that you've not got something like teamviewer or alternatives installed on your PC. Check programs and features.
If a remote assistance program was found I'd uninstall then run my security software for Trojans or key loggers. Then change all my passwords and security questions set up on my email and other accounts.
