HELP data "lost" when changed username

  dmm27 10:11 06 Mar 2006

I was trying to set up a network on my laptop to connect to desktop. I renamed the laptop from "IBM-something-or-other" to "LAPTOP" and also changed the bit that says "always log on as administrator" rather than several different users.

When I have rebooted, I cannot access any of my data. I presume that it is still there under the previous user id, but how do I get back to it?

control panel user accounts?

what do I do when I have got there.

The original changes were made via the network connection wizard.

I dont actually have any passwords set up for any users, and when I boot up, I dont get a choice of which user to log on as.

Now managed to find data, but how do I go back to the old config.

At the moment, I have to boot up and it automatically logs on as administrator, then log off, and then logon again!

I presume I cant delete the administrator account. Can i disable it?
