Help With Adobe Elements!

  sunrunner 09:52 14 Feb 2008

Looking for some help with photo editing!

I have some pics where I want the main image (objects or people) just to appear on a white or black background. I.e remove all the background!

I have Adobe Elements 5!

Any help appreciated.

Sunrunner: I had a job with this initially but, eventually, I found the way :-

As I wrote this I did a run on one of my photos - I suceeded, you should keep trying if you fail first time. Good luck.

1. Click on the desktop icon for Elements
2. Select Edit and Enhance from the first screen
3. Click on File, then Open, select the photo you wish to process and double click on it.
4. The photo appears
5. Click on Image, then Magic Extractor
6. Another screen appears
7. Top Icon Left Hand Side should be highlighted already. If not, then highlight it.
8. Now place your cursor over the part you wish to keep. Click the left button of the house, a red dort will appear. Repeat as necessary.
9. Now highlight the icon beneath the first
10. Repeat 8, but this time click on parts to be removed. Again repeat as necessary
11. Click on the preview button - right hand top of screen.
12. If not satisfactory, repeat steps 7 to 11 until you are.
13. Click OK
14. Click on the Menu item File and Save to.
