Hello to you,

Well can anybody give me some advice on the above as I have recently purchased BRAND NEW 1GB PC2700 DDR RAM 333MHz memory card .
My pc is a DELL demension 2400 desktop and running windows XP 40GB HD and my owners manual says it will take the memory card but I have been told to buy Heat spreader for the memory.(why do I need this?)

Can anybody advise of what to do as currently I am running an 256MB memory but I'm updating to 1GB ?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Is 'heat spreader' a posh name for a fan? You will not need any extra cooling for RAM only for a larger processor.
