Hi, I have some how lost windows installer. I have visited Windows helpsite and downloaded version 3KB942288 which sits on my desktop. My problem ie, how do I get it into the 'Services" folder where I believe it should be? Any help appreciated

SERVICES - go into Control Panel - Administrative Tools OR Start - Run - type "services.msc" (without quotes) Scroll down Services to find Windows Installer and Restart the service.

Thanks for that, the only problem is windows installer is not present in services. As I said, I have downloaded v3 from microsoft and the shortcut to it sits on my desktop. d
