Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 installation problem

  Aquarrian 14:22 15 Oct 2005

I have fitted this TV card into my PC but it is not being recognised. The search for hardware wizard does not come up and when I try to install the software manually the PC cannot find the card. I have fitted the card in several PCI slots with no joy. This is a self build PC built 12 months ago with new equipment. I think there must be a hardware conflict but cannot understand where. All hardware fitted at the time was from well known manufacturers recommended by PC magazines. The card does work in another PC so I believe the card to be OK.

You have to load the drivers for it to see the card

I use to have a WinTV card (courtesy of a forum member) which required two downloads from the Hauppauge website.

It was important to obtain the correct downloads as Hauppauge used to fit one of two different chipsets in the manufacture of the TV cards - whether this is still the case today I don't know.

The card had a sticker which indicated which chipset had been used in its manufacture.

I agree with stuartli, my card acted queer when I tried to reinstal in this computer and I had to uninstal/reinstal a few times before reading the FAQ on the Hauppage site. Follow their method EXACTLY or you end up like me !!!

I also have the old PCI card not radio just TV but found that drivers should be loaded before software.
