Has my computer been hijacked?

Hi all,
I would appreciate some assistance, I am currently working online with my laptop as I am having problems logging on with my desktop. I have both Norton Antivirus and Norton Firewall installed on both machines but I am unable to log onto either e-mail or the Internetas a program is requesting information from messenger.hotmail.com. It looks like the programme is "[freeprograms][email protected] "that is all the information I have at the moment. I assume that it is trying to direct me to a pornographic site. Any help of ridding this from my computer would be appreciated. Would a system restore get rid of this?.

Are you using XP, if so ..system restore should rectify the problem.

I encountered a similar problem when a dialler had installed itself..everywhere- System restore rectified it.

Thanks for all the help, I am in the process of trying them out. I'm surprised I got caught out as I'm using broadband with Norton Firewall as well, I'll let you know how I get on.
