Hard drive partitioning and formatting software

Can anyone recommend a good program?

I have been using a bundled copy of PM 8 the disk of which appears to be giving up.

I am reluctant to buy PM8 as it has not been updated in so long and does not support VISTA so when I do have to upgrade it wouldn't work for me.

Currently running XP and the included paritioning software does't appear to let me get where I need to be anywhere near as easily as PM8 did.

I need to be able to partition and format large drives. I currently have two 500GB in my main machine.

I need to be able to do this prior to installation of windows.

Any recommendations?

PS -

Why do you need to do this prior to XP installation.

Do it post installation in Disk Manager perhaps?

Hi kevvyb,

As DieSse suggests you can use fdisk when you begin the installation of XP. Microsoft help click here again as DieSse suggests if you have XP up and running use Gparted this is a free program and should do what you require.

Good Luck.

Thanks all.

Already bought EASEUS Partition Manager PRO and it looks very good. Runs in windows and creates a bootable disk.

Using bootable disk, just created partitions just as I would with PM8!!
