Hard Drive not showing in Windows Explorer

  han0702 10:51 04 Mar 2016

Hi, I've had the Samsung M3 1TB hard drive for about 6 months now and have never had any issues before. Went to use it today and suddenly it's only showing in devices and not in my computer so I can't access my files. I've tried getting it to show in Disk Management but it tells me to Initialize my disk which I don't want to do as I don't want to lose my files. I've tried uninstalling the device from my laptop and reinstalling it but same problem. I am running Windows 10 on I don't have another laptop to try it on. If anyone could help me fix this please! Thanks

Sorry I'm not sure where I'm looking, but I don't see it saying RAW anywhere..

what exactly does it say in dsk management

it says 'you must initialize a disk before logical disk manager can access it'

select disks

disk 1

use the following partition style for the selected disks

MBR (master boot record)

GPT (GUID partition table)

I think you have have to use something Like Easus data recovery (free) to try and get back your files before initializing and reformatting.

I tried that but as its not showing in Windows Explorer, its not picking up there..
