Hi there,

My hard drive has been making a funny kind of noice recently. Its a sort of loading/very deep quick clicking kind of noice. Its Hard to explain, i think it could be that I need a new one, and the computer is slower now aswell. Does anybody no what this could be and what i need to do.

Back up data while drive is still working.
Fit new drive and reload from recovery disks
Check the drive to see if its an IDE or SATA large flat data cable its an ide drive. Thin red cable SATA
Good luck

All drive manufacturers have diagnostic programs for download. Got to their site download and see what the report says. IBM drives taken on by Hitach had what was known as the click of death and failed very early compared to those of other manufacturers.
