Hall.dll missing HELP!!!!!!

My PC wont start. I keep geting a message saying Hall.dll Is Missing or Corrupt. I have Windows XP and am serching for the CD (So Don't tell me to try the CD). All the boot disk files I can find seem to be 4 floppys long. is there a shorter version?

Please note that I said that I can't find the CD. one of my friends tidyed up and lost it!

ANY Windows XP CD will do. Borrow one.

By the way, the file name is hal.dll.

It should be located in windows\system32

If you can`t borrow a XP-CD quickly, then I could send you the hal.dll by e-mail to try; (it is 129Kb). If this does not work, (and the boot.ini file is present on your PC), the boot.ini may be corrupted.
