Green Horizontal Lines on PC Monitor

  predation 16:59 19 Oct 2014

I have a Philips 234CL monitor with a GeForce GT 440 GPU. Ever since last week, at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, the monitor shows a bar of faint green lines that are somewhat spaced out, running across the upper part of the screen; the bar ends abruptly somewhere on the left part of the screen. They're also present when Windows boots up and when I disable the display adapter. At a refresh rate of 50 Hz, however, they're almost unnoticeable. Is this a problem with the monitor or something else?

I tried everything there; it still doesn't work. As I said, the problem is not with the drive, since the lines are still present when I uninstalled the display adapter.

Try check cable is fully pushed home or another cable

Try another monitor or TV even. Try a different cable.

Usually when you uninstall the GPU you get the Windows generic driver and if that shows the lines it would indicate a monitor problem to me.

Bad cable or bad connection between cable and socket or socket to board.

Changing the cable didn't work either.

To find out if the problem is with the monitor try it on another computer.
