Graphics: nVidia 8600GT or Radeon 2600XT?

  Zopah 15:26 19 Nov 2007

The January 2008 edition of the magazine has tested the Arbico 6750XL with a 256mb 8600GT. I was wondering if a 256mb 2600XT is going to be better? (I can add it to the system for another £10)
Thanks for your help.

I think they are both in the same league, hence the minimal price difference.

hi Zopah

I have ati 2600XT and i love it so much, there very big difference between the old graphic card ati x800 pro,and the new ati 2600 xt, in term of game.

the screen when i was playing game is much clearer than x800pro.the game i am playing such:call of duty2,call of duty4,unreal tournament2003,2004,2007)

to be honest i don't know anything about 8600GT graphic card.

Whatever you choose,
good luck

As has been said, there's not a lot between them performance wise. You could go for a 7900GS which would be a lot better card. They have some available here click here for £60.

Here's how the 7900 stacks up against the 2600XT, you're looking for the entries highlighted in blue:

3850 and 3870 cards have come out to replace 2600xt etc, the new cards are much better.
