Graphics Layers problem?

  djsew 21:29 30 Jul 2008

The problem occurs on a friend's 4yr old Dell laptop with 2Gb RAM; ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 display adaptor; Win XP Pro; Internet Explorer 6.
On accessing 'ViaMichelin' web route planner service a journey is setup but the resulting map displays a route laterally displaced 100's of miles i.e. Roscoff to Paris shows a start point near Scilly Isles and terminates in Channel off French coast!
Six months ago all was fine, no major software installations or hardsware changes since, other than increase of RAM 512Mb > 2Gb.
Anyone come across this?
Any suggestions?

or Driver issue, I would check in Device Manager that there is no yellow exclamation mark next to display or listed, also check windows updates manually and see if their is a new ATI Driver.

Hi Chips & Bits
Had some feed back from problem person.
The fault now appears only when using Win Explorer to access the online map routing facility. If access is via Firefox (or Yahoo?) all is OK. In past week his IE v6 has been upgraded to 7 along with XP-SP3 instalation etc.
Problem still exists!
Could be a corrupt windows file that IE 6/7 uses?
What's the Windows file validity command (not chkdsc)?

Try changing Resolution of Monitor, In Display Properties. Right Click Desktop\Properties\Settings\Advanced
