Current card NVIDIA GeForce Ti4600 (System XP SP2, AMD AthlonXP 2000+).
Interested in OcUK GeForce 6800 GS 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (AGP).

The graphics card is a nice one and yes you will notice a difference. Though the processor may be a bit of a bottle neck.

I suspect as long as you have a decent 350w PSU, or greater, you should have no problems.

Though I did once myself have a problem with an older motherboard not being able to provide enough power through the AGP socket. Probably not an issue for you, as this like a lot of cards these days (well AGP versions at least) require a separate power connection.

I'd say you should be fine.

Anyone else?

a 6600gt agp would suit your pc as your processor would not be able to get the best out of a higher card. I don't think there is a agp version of the 6800gs yet. You can get agp 6800 or 6800gt.

6800gs agp is available.

PCA covered graphics cards this month. The only AGP card was a PNY 6600GT and thats probably the best you can get as you're stuck with AGP. I haven't seen a 6800 AGP card and even if one existed its a bit of a waste. I should point out though the 6600GT is a very capable card and you will be very pleased with it (I have the PCI Express 6600GT and I'm happy, played FEAR no problem at all). Do make sure you have a decent power supply before purchasing however, as the others have said it does require its own power connector as well as the power it gets from the AGP slot.

I have an Athlon xp 2100 agp based system and recently sought advice on graphics upgrades from a variety of sources including this one.

Consensus was a 6600 vanilla or 6600 gt but no better because of the cpu bottleneck.

Morgan still have the 6600 Diamond (vanilla but overclocked, video-in, + game) for £90. It was in the last PCA budget chart.

Various agp 6600gt's for about the £100-110 mark.

Ebuyer have an Asus 6800 vanilla for £105.

That's my short list anyway. Just need to pay off Christmas debts and see if I get a bonus in April!
