Graphics Card GEforce FX5600XT

I currently have a 17" monitor with 1280x1024 resolution. Will my FX5600 be ok with a 20" monitor with 1600x1200

Yes but it depends what program you are using it for, what I mean is if you are playing a game and its quite demanding, the more you up the resolution the harder the graphics card has to work and eventually it won't cope and the display will break up. Its no major problem the monitor will run at lower resolutions as well, it doesn't have to run at 1600x1200 you could quite happily run it at 1280x1024 or 1024x768 etc.

Thanks very much for your help. I don't play games so I will get my larger screen.

Totally-Braindead - Don't TFT monitors have a 'native' resolution? Eg, 17-19" 1280x1024, 20-22" 1600-1200 (1680x1050 for widescreen)? And while you can run them at a lower resolution, they look quite frankly pants (unless of course, you meant adjusting the game resolution settings in which case, sorry - I'll shut up :)

Kendor+ your graphics card can theoretically support a resolution of up to 2048x1546. If games are not your thing, it should be fine for day to day use.

Well I must have some sort if freaky weird monitor as it has a native revolution but when I adjust it down from it the picture still looks fine. It doesn't look pants at all and its a cheapo TFT.
