graphics card compatibilty with motherboard

  Kefty 11:15 24 May 2006

I have just bought a Radeon X300 card for my Compaq P4 Evo D300. I bought it from ebay so waiting for delivery. I presumed it would be compatible as it was a low profile card. Can anyone advise whether this card will work ok?

hello braindead. is there a problem having two threads? they ask 2 different questions....

Its just that you could either have continued on the other thread or at least have ticked it the other thread as resolved.

If it is a low profile card that you have bought and is the correct slot,AGP ot PCI Express whichever your motherboard takes then there is no reason it should not work.

Thanks- I have a brown AGP slot on the motherboard. The card is PCI express, but I dont know whether it will work??

No it won't the slots are totally different. If you have AGP you need an AGP low profile card. PCI Express will not fit.
