Graphics Card Advice

  CalumH93 14:33 01 Jun 2010

I currently have a nVidia GeForce 9500GS graphics card which i am looking to upgrade.

I seen this card, PNY GeForce GT240 / 1GB / PCI Express / Graphics Card ( click here ).

Will there be much difference between cards? Will i be able to play games with good FPS etc.?

Any advice would be greatly appritiated.

A bargain at that price.

Go on, you won't regret it.

Is this based on the price or the fact that you have one of these cards.
statements like this can be a tad misleading...

What about the 9800GT or GTS250?

Is that not the 512mb version that is cheaper, not the 1GB? Also, looking at the tests it does look poor for gaming, however as they tested the 512mb and not the 1GB, would the extra memory make much of a diffrence?

I had a look at the 250 but i was hoping to spend less than £100 and all the 250's i seem to find are £130+.

I'll have a look into the 9800.

Thanks Very Much

hd5670, less than 100, uses low power, and it is dx11

GTS250 £79 click here
HD5650 £69 click here

The 1GB version won't make that much difference unless you game on a big monitor with a very high resolution.

I currently have a 22" monitor at 1680x1050. Would you recommend 1GB for that or will the 512's be adequate?

The 512mb versions will be fine for what you need, but go for the 1gb version if it's only a few quid more.
