graphic card problem

running xp home, slight problem with graphics card, if i uninstall drivers via device manager will this totally remove all files from system 32 so i can do a clean install. the problem is shadowing prior to text fill on drop down boxes (i.e. game in solitaire) help appreciated using lcd monitor

it could be the game at fault, see if there are any patches or updates for it.

thanks citadel, it's not the game, it's the graphic drivers, need to do a clean install.

You need to change the driver in Display Adapter to a Generic Driver by telling it to show all, then go to Control Panel after choose Add New Hardware and load the Driver for the Graphics if its uncompressed. If its a Setup file run this as soon as you have got it running with the Generic driver

thanks woodchip not sure what you mean? device manager, display adapter, properties, driver, now where is show all? if this is not the correct path, please advise.

Start the PC in Safe Mode
Go to Control Panel Add/Remove Programs
Select the Graphics driver and click Remove/Uninstall eg Nvidia or Ati (if ATI follow these directions click here )
Ignore and Cancel Found New Hardware Wizard
Run the Software driver installer for your graphics card
Reboot and it should all work
