grainy pics

Got a new (2nd hand)pc but graphics & pics from the web are very "grainy" !! Any ideas? thanks

That's because they are jpeg or gif compressed so they will load on the web quick, what are you trying to do with them

just trying to get an improvement for clarity. last pc no problems but this one seems to req some sort of adjustment. Any advice? thanks

If it's the monitor right click the desktop choose properties settings Advanced see what colour it set to

Under display properties it shows 256 colors with a very grainy example of a color bar underneath !

You need at least 16bit if you can get it if not you may be able to update the graphic's card driver

PS have you tried clicking in the box with 256 to get the drop down, it may let you go to 16Bit

does the drop down show high colour and true colour, if so click on a higher alternative, if not you need to upgrade your graphics drivers.

In the drop down i have 3 other options high 16 true 24 & true 32 !! What should i go for? thanks
