GPRS size of download Vs price

I am thinking of adding a GPRS data option to my bluetooth enabled mobile phone contract so that I can use it for mobile internet on a PDA.

I understand that GPRS is sold based on the size of downloads as opposed to time spent online. What size is the average website (say Yahoo or hotmail), so that I can get an idea of how much I can do for the price I will be paying.

I am looking at adding £4/month to my mobile contract for 2MB of data, and then £3 per MB I use after that. It just sounds quite expensive.

thanks.
