to get gpedit working go to run type gpedit.msc dont forget to dot after gpedit.this works on both xp home/pro/ can close desktop tidy.tracking.change reservable bandwidth can go to user administry templates and change most of your setting without downloading you get a description of what they do.

Unfortunately gpedit.msc is not usable on XP Home.

You posted this yesterday click here which is not a problem, but as was pointed out then, and by Powerless now, gpedit.msc is not available in XP Home.

Also, while group policy is convenient to use, as you've explained (with description, explanation and so on) without having to do registry tweaks, it can also be a dangerous tool.

A not uncommon trap in group policy is for an Administrator (even experienced ones) to lock himself out of applications, or worse still, out of Windows itself, which a few clicks in gpedit.msc can achieve.
