How do I delete the "history" of my Google searches? Whilst it can be handy sometimes to be able to click on a previous search word, i would prefer the record not to be stored

Click on the arrow to the right of the word Google and just left of the Title Bar and scroll down to Clear Search History and left click that. This will clear the previous entries.

Don't know what you mean by Google search history but any "history" you have will be able to be deleted using your ISP's history deletion setup or whatever browser you use. For example in IE click on tools.. internet options..general tab... click on clear history. Same options available in all browsers.

PS I don't have gemail and haven't signed in for any Google service.
