Google hyperlinks redirected

I have just started experiencing a problem with Google (or my computer). When I click on a result of a Google search, the hyperlink changes to another, usually adult, site. When I go back and click on the link again, it usually takes me where I want to go. I am somewhat paranoid about viruses, highjackers etc and regularly run a broard range of regularly updated security products, but they all say my machine is fine. Can anyone help please?

Look for the file

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

and if you find it rename it to hosts.txt then restart your PC.

The above assumes that you are running Windows XP.

Thanks. There are 2 'host' files. I canged one to .TXT, but the other has an 'icalender' extension. Unfortuneatly, I re-booted but the problem is still there. Any other suggestions please?
