Gigabyte MB and 4x AGP - Possible??

  Jester2K II 11:37 10 Jun 2003

Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-6VX7B-4X click here States 4x AGP

Graphics Card is Hercules 3D Prophet 3 GeForce 3 Ti 200 4x AGP

Detonator Drivers 44.03

VIA 4 in 1 4.47 Hyperion

Windows XP Home

Windows says i can only have up to 2x AGP and will not allow me to goto 4x.

Is there any way to get 4x AGP??

are you sure your not reading it wrong.

AGP 2.0 compliant and x4 are different.

  Jester2K II 12:53 10 Jun 2003

huggyg71 - no. the MB isn't USB 2.0 and i know the difference between AGP 4x and USB 2.0

Might try RivaTuner but sure i've been there before.

Installed RivaTuner again. This time it worked. Need to do a benchmark to see if it makes any difference!!

Any point in enabling (forcing) Side Band Addressing and Fast Writes??

set clock generation accuracy to high using the drop down box in.

dont use the slider.

this should give best results i find if tweaking the card.

Think i'll have to read the manual cos its quite in depth. At least my mind is at rest regarding the 4x AGP now.

Cheers all
