Ghost Entries in Device Manager

Hi All out there
When I opened the Device Manager I was greeted with a large yellow Question Mark over text saying Unknown Device PCI Multimedia Audio Device.
Each time I boot up it shows as searching for a drv for this unknown device, with no success.
I have to cancel to proceed with the bootup and Windows98SE works correctly.I opened the DM and clicked on PCI Bus in the System tree. I found that a Mini Port data and IRQ Miniport had loaded successfully.
How do I get rid of this device?

Thanks in Hope.

If you start your PC in Safe mode, you can remove these entries.

Or you could just disable and ignore it.

In Device Manager just highlight the device and click on Remove, I think? LC.
