Here are the test results from a Hong Kong magazine (I'm reproducing only the parts relating to 5600XT and 9600SE):

Games played at 1024x768 (unless otherwise stated). All scores, higher the better.

Pro Evolution Soccer 3: XT 33 fps; SE 41 fps

Need for Speed: Underground - XT 26.3; SE 36

Halo - XT 13.9; SE 19.49

Unreal Tournament 2003 (1280 x 1024) - XT 32.04; SE 31.22

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory (1280 x 1024) - XT 36.9; SE 21.5

Aquamark - XT 13; SE 16.52

Splinter Cell - XT 13.44; SE 10.92

Gun Metal - XT 10.74; SE 9.1

Considering that the 9600SE uses only 64-bit memory (while 5600XT uses 128-bit), the 9600SE fares pretty well.

The review doesn't think much of the 5600XT. In quite a number of games, it runs more slowly than even the FX5200-128 bit memory.

Don't know whether this helps. But if you wait a couple of weeks more, you might get more reviews on the net.

does anyone know if ati cards are an improvent over all as the drivers used to be poor with ati, never get the most out of the card.thats why i have always considered nvidia

thinking about ati now, aslong as their drivers have improved

No..... In fact I had forgot to post that. It should have been before your post. In fact, I mentioned that link before but curiously it did not get "clicked here". So I thought pcadvisor did not want ppl to advert.
