getting my emails off backup disk

  [DELETED] 00:02 05 Feb 2006

My old PC is now defunct, but all data has been saved onto CD.

How do I open my emails that are saved in a folder called "saved emails" on the CD.

Right-clicking on the .dbx filename opens teh "open with" box, but outlook express isnt there. I have tried importing from the file from outlook express, (ie File>Import>messages, and then selecting the file on the browse menu) but i just get an error message that no messages can be found in this folder, despite the fact that it is 25MB.

Whats going wrong. Does it matter that the emails were Outlook express v5, but I am opening them with Outlook express v6?

you need to copy the folder to your hard drive, anywhere will do. You then need to rename the folder to outlook express. Then you will be able to import them.
