I have WINXP Pro, and need to get back to DOS in order to run an application for cleaning my PC of the WIN32/Dupator virus.
How can you get back to DOS in the WIN XP start up?

Don't think you can. XP doesn't work from MS DOS. It works from a different system called Calderra DOS.

You should be able to get into a dos mode using the Recovery Console by changing the boot up sequence in Bios to read the CD-rom drive first.

this link should work

"Creating an XP Startup disk for booting to MS-DOS

(The MS-DOS startup disk you create will allow you to boot to MS-DOS but contains no additional tools.)

Insert a floppy disk into your computer's floppy drive. All of the information on the disk, if any, will be erased.

Go to "My Computer".

Right click on the A Drive and then click on Format.

Under Format options, click "Create an MS-DOS Start-up Disk".

Click Start. and the DOS Start-up Disk will be created."
