get rid of I.E.

I`m running Vista on a Compaq desktop and am having problems with Internet Explorer. It keeps switching itself off. So I downloaded Opera and now wish to get rid of I.E. Or if not possible how to run Opera instead.

I have never used Opera, but I think you should have the option to set Opera as your Default browser.

Done that but now need to change email acc. from Yahoo. Opera tells me to click on "tools" but cannot find tools in Opera

As I said, I don't use Opera, but plenty on here do - I guess someone will come to your aid.

The way I use to find tools in Opera is through the menu bar. Click on the opera button and select show menu bar and you will see tools.

I find the Opera help is quite good.
