Hi, Is this something to do with a network setup or is it a trojan ? Its on another machine but as I remember it, it is 'Generichost.exe'
If you mean "generic host process" then it is a legitimate windows procedure.
It is a genuine Windows element but be wary if you get the message "Generic Host Process for Win 32 services encountered a problem and needed to close" as it usually means you are infected by the Blaster worm.
The actual msg is" Do you wnat to allow Generic Host Process for win32 services to access the internet ? "" Destination IP: 239.255.***.*** port 1900 application: svchost.exe ver 5.1 ".Now I have seen other postings about svchostc.exe, is this the same ? it dosent wish to close anything down, though if access is denied then explorer will not connect.
